Blessed Francis Seelos Academy was established in 2017 through a merger of Saint Alexis Parish School and Saint Alphonsus Parish School. It became the first elementary school in the U.S.A. to be named after the great son of Füssen, Francis Xavier Seelos. It is located in Wexford Pennsylvania and is in the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

The Shrine of St Peter & St Paul in Cumberland,Maryland where Blessed Seelos served as a Priest are pleased to announce that an artist in Baltimore has agreed to make a statue to go in the Seelos Grotto they made in the Parish Prayer Garden last year.They told Seelos In Füssen this is  " very exciting News".

Sunday April 3rd 2022 is hopefully the day when Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos Parish in Spanish Fort, Alabama  will be able to celebrate Holy Mass in their new built Church for the 1st time!Tommorrow 16th January 2022 is also a special day in the building stage,the blessing of the cross which will be placed on top of the Parish Centre will be blessed at 1200hrs.Those wanting to attend should wear appropriate shoes and clothing for a construction site.Enter the site via Highway 31 and follow the path to safely enter the building! The Parish are also delighted to have a new Acolyte,Steve Nelson,who was received the Ministry on Saturday 8th January from Archbishop Thomas Rodi.He will be ordained a permanent Deacon in June!

The Redemptorist Migrant Ministry runs a website called "Padre Migrante" which is managed by Father Mike McAndrew C.Ss.R. of the Redemptorist Denver Province out of Chicago. Father Mike told us "I have been writing blogs daily on our Redemptorist website to recognize our work and really the Church's work with migrants and immigrants. Our padremigrante site has been up for 18 months. I have been blessed to work with migrants and immigrants all my  life. Our saints, Neumann, Seelos and the pioneer Redemptorists in America set us on the path of working with immigrants. Today, Pope Francis calls attention to the global migration that affects our entire world. Our site is to call attention to "welcoming the stranger".

A recent news article by the Catholic Sun,the official news source of the Phoenix Diocese highlighted the Parish of St Bernadette in North Scottsdale.The Church has recently been renovated with new artwork.Bishop Olmsted paid a Pastoral Visit on December 19 last year to view the new art and dedicate the new organ. Above the main Altar is a painting of the Blessed Trinity,Our Lady and all the American Saints & Blessed`s.Blessed Seelos being amongst them. From November 17 through till November 20th, Redemptorist Vocation Directors, Fr. Peter Nguyen, Fr. Thomas Pham, Fr. Chuong Cao, and Fr. Denis Sweeney attended the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) held at the Indianapolis Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium.The Conference was themed on the Holy Spirit and was targeted to help the youth through the power of the Holy Spirit to be shining lights by living their faith as faithful Catholics.

               The Vocation Directors had banners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and St John Neumann displayed at their booth as well as other vocational material which was appropiate to the youth of today.According to Father Denis Sweeney C.Ss.R. "the most captivating piece to our booth was in displaying the First-Class Relics of St. John Neumann and Bl. Francis Xavier Seelos. All ages were drawn to our booth and the relics. With one of the parishes the chaperones, after visiting our booth by themselves, later brought their entire high school group to the booth for prayer and blessing. There had to be about 20-25 of them. What we discovered is that many of those in high school know little or nothing at all about relics and their place in our Catholic faith. It was a wonderful and graced moment to do some evangelization and speak about our Shrines in Philadelphia and New Orleans."

Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos was born 11th January 1819. The Seelos Shrine in New Orleans will be hosting a Birthday Healing Mass at 1300hrs on Sunday 9th January 2022 in honour of the 203rd birthday of Blessed Seelos at St Mary`s Assumption Church,New Orleans.

Father Carl Hoegerl was responsible for the Beatification of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos

Father Carl Hoegerl,C.Ss.R, died on the Feast of his patron Saint Charles Borromeo on 4th November 2021 aged 98.Another German Priest who was also a great promoter of Seelos,Bishop`s Vicar Karlheinz Knebel also died on the same day in 2017,It was also his name day! In 1984 Father Hoegerl was asked by the Redemptorist Superior General Father Joseph Pfab to work on the Canonisation cause of Servant of God Francis Xavier Seelos C.Ss.R. He was appointed by the Congregation of Saints Causes as an external assistant.Father Hoegerl`s funeral will take place at 1030hrs 11th Novemeber 2021 at  Sacred Heart of Jesus/Sagrado Corazon de Jesus Church;600 South Conkling Street;Baltimore,MD 21224.Burial will follow immediatly after the Requiem at Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetary at 7401 German Hill Road,Dundalk, MD 21222.
